Happy Easter! I hope that you and your family had a wonderful weekend with family!

Our weekend was filled with wonderful fun with family and heartfelt and uplifting services from our Church.

This was our first Easter going to Church, and it was an incredible experience. It was also an amazing teaching opportunity for the kids to learn exactly why Easter is more than just the Easter Bunny and chocolate eggs, it's about the ultimate sacrifice and unconditional love.

We are so blessed to have been able to find a church that embodies what we were looking for and has an amazing Kids Ministry that is so fun and enthusiastic while sharing the Good News.

We also had our own fun, including a trip to Langley Horse Adventures for an Easter egg hunt on horseback! The kids had so much fun interacting with the horses, playing games and even trotting! It was so great for them to learn not only how to ride but to steer and give commands to the horses. This is the second event we've done with Langley Horse Adventures and it's always been a good experience. The horses are gentle and the staff are incredible.

I also managed to sneak away from and adult flower arranging class. We normally do monthly online classes through Westgate Flower Garden, but this was a time for Mom to have some fun! Sandra is always so lovely, going above and beyond for everyone. You can tell how much she loves flowers and sharing her love through designing.

On a homeschooling front, we've been very relaxed with the holiday and family visiting. We've been doing more hands on learning experiences, which I've found is just as important as any workbook. The ability for Ava and Owen to retain information when they are physically handling an object or organically learning about what interests them is fascinating to watch.

This week, we will focus more on workbooks and traditional-style learning but I like to think that experiences are just as important as sit down work, and it keeps their imagination and enthusiasm running.
